This year I took early retirement from my job and to celebrate this had a few drinks here and there and also took a trip to Keswick with family in September 2024. During this trip we did the obligatory walk up Skiddaw, via Latrigg. Me, Jack, Andy and Callum scaled this 3000-er from Low Briary, taking a sheer route up Latrigg first. This was quite steep and my old retired legs were complaining a bit. The walk from Latrigg to Skiddaw was okay until we got to the never-ending zig-zag bit where you start to wonder just why in the heck you do this kind of thing. Thankfully it is over eventually, but the plod continues right to the summit of this magnificent mountain, one of the best. We returned via Keswick and the Oddfellows for a pint.
Welcome...
There are several blogs on the internet detailing other people’s walks up hills and mountains in the UK, there are many fine pages showing routes up various fells, many of which will be better than this blog. So, why bother reading my blog? No reason at all, so I guess you might as well move on…
You still here? Cool...let's see...
