Welcome...

There are several blogs on the internet detailing other people’s walks up hills and mountains in the UK, there are many fine pages showing routes up various fells, many of which will be better than this blog. So, why bother reading my blog? No reason at all, so I guess you might as well move on…

You still here? Cool...let's see...

a Chailleach and Carn Sgulain Oct 2022

In October 2022, Andy, Steve, Mark and I decided on a trip to Kingussie near to the Cairngorms in Scotland. We stayed in some garden cabins which were pretty good - a sort of one up from pods.

By OS Map for this hill wander

The town itself is a ideal base for a Munro bagging, with pubs and shops.

Our first walk of the break was a trip up a Chailleach and Carn Sgulain, just Andy and me. We took a short drive to Newtonmore and parked up at a carpark at the end of the obvious road leading to the beginning of the walk. It was a misty wander and quite boggy in places.
