Welcome...

There are several blogs on the internet detailing other people’s walks up hills and mountains in the UK, there are many fine pages showing routes up various fells, many of which will be better than this blog. So, why bother reading my blog? No reason at all, so I guess you might as well move on…

You still here? Cool...let's see...

Walking Review 2020

I am sure 2020 will go down as a year we will all remember for years to come. We have seen some  really tough times, both personally and from afar. I lost my mum this year, and I dedicate this year’s walks to her. In fact, Steve said as we climbed Longridge Fell that the walk was in her memory , which was just a few days after her passing…

Covid put paid to lots of hills this year, but I managed a lot of Lancashire walks, plus a few nights in Braemar, along with walks in the Lakes. Highlights for me are An Sucach in Scotland, re-acquainting myself with Darwen Tower and a hidden gem in Stake House Fell.

But what of 2021? Current lockdowns and restrictions aren’t making it easy, but I am considering a few local longish low-level walks, plus as the year goes on, I am thinking of a few long-distance walks… West Highland Way, anyone? I also want a return to Skiddaw, and to bag a few more Munros… Let’s go…

Paul the Hill wanderer Jan 2021. And walking buddies of 2020… friends and family, Steve, Amy, Mark, Jack and Andy. Oh and Jake and Roco (I always spell that wrong)
