Welcome...

There are several blogs on the internet detailing other people’s walks up hills and mountains in the UK, there are many fine pages showing routes up various fells, many of which will be better than this blog. So, why bother reading my blog? No reason at all, so I guess you might as well move on…

You still here? Cool...let's see...

Black Fell & Holme Fell

In May this year we took a trip to the Lakes, my first of the year and climbed Black Fell and Holme Fell, parking at the Drunken Duck Pub and taking the relaxed route to the top of Black Fell. It was me, Andy, Steve and James.

The view from this little fell is lovely and it is a great little walk. From here we headed to Holme Fell, a longer and more exerting walk than I envisaged. A bit ‘never ending’ is the phrase. Once this hill was bagged, we headed to Tarn Howes. A truly lovely pocket of beauty. In fact, this alone is a great walk. Such a beautiful tarn.

After this is was a long walk back to the Drunken Duck, where we were rewarded with a pint to quench out thirsts…
