Welcome...

There are several blogs on the internet detailing other people’s walks up hills and mountains in the UK, there are many fine pages showing routes up various fells, many of which will be better than this blog. So, why bother reading my blog? No reason at all, so I guess you might as well move on…

You still here? Cool...let's see...

Ben More and Stob Bidean

In April this year I scaled a round of hills I had been wanting to do for a while - Ben More and Stob Bidean. These were two of three hills we did on a trip, staying at one of our favourite places - in Killin for three nights. We parked up on the main road (A85) and we took a well signed path upwards… and upwards. This was one steep track! We hit snow as we reached the summit and had lunch in a cave like top, snow all around. Ben More is the highest peak in the area and it felt like it!

From then it was down to the col, then onwards to Stob Bidean, which was a fine beacon ahead. It was clear all around so was a wonderful walk to the top, taking in the views. We then headed back down to the car and had a few beers in Killin to toast the day’s wander.
