Welcome...

There are several blogs on the internet detailing other people’s walks up hills and mountains in the UK, there are many fine pages showing routes up various fells, many of which will be better than this blog. So, why bother reading my blog? No reason at all, so I guess you might as well move on…

You still here? Cool...let's see...

Silver How and Blea Rigg

In April 2024 four weary travellers ascended a few fells near Grasmere. There was Jack, Andy, Steve and me. We parked up near the lake and after a short road walk, headed up along a good path to the summit of Silver How. The last time I was here was with my daughter in a papoose – my daughter not me, and as I write this, she is nearing 25 years old. There then followed a walk along the ridge to Blea Rigg.

This is a pleasant place with good views of mountains all around, most notably the Langdale Pikes. Andy and Steve went on to do Tarn Crag and Jack and I went down the tricky path by Easedale Tarn, where ducks came to greet us. It was long walk to the pub for an ale…
