Welcome...

There are several blogs on the internet detailing other people’s walks up hills and mountains in the UK, there are many fine pages showing routes up various fells, many of which will be better than this blog. So, why bother reading my blog? No reason at all, so I guess you might as well move on…

You still here? Cool...let's see...

November Hill Walk: Loughrigg Fell

The November walk took us to the English Lake District and onto the ever popular, and always impressive hill that is Loughrigg Fell, near Ambleside. It was me, Steve, Mark and pooches Jake and Roco.

We parked up at the small hamlet of Rydal (White Moss) and headed across the footbridge over the River Rothay and towards Loughrigg Terrace, a path that runs around the base of the hill, with a view of the lovely Rydal Water to the right.

After walking along this pleasant path for a while, we headed left and up to the summit of the fell. We had had a bit of a drizzly start, but the clarity was good and there were superb views all around, including Windermere and Grasmere.

From the summit we ascended to Rydal Cave, taking a peep at the impressive man made cavern. Then it was back to the car and a quick ale (or two) in nearby Ings.

Here's a link to the vid Steve made of it...
