Welcome...

There are several blogs on the internet detailing other people’s walks up hills and mountains in the UK, there are many fine pages showing routes up various fells, many of which will be better than this blog. So, why bother reading my blog? No reason at all, so I guess you might as well move on…

You still here? Cool...let's see...

May 19 walk 2 Beinn Bhuidhe

My May hill walks come to two this month, ‘walk one’ and ‘walk two,’ as me and friends went for a three night stay in Inveraray, Scotland to bag some Munros…

Walk one was Beinn Ime, see previous post. Walk two was Beinn Bhuidhe and it was just me and my bro Andy this time.

The walk began at the car park on Loch Fynne, not far for the brewery (of which we made a decisive decision to visit later).

We crossed the bridge and passed the brewery and along a never ending, but good track to the base of the hill, passing curious but unnerving Highland Cows on the path. The walk then took us up the side of a gill, which got quite hairy in places, especially a tricky scramble. The gill behind us, it was a touch slog up to a bealach, then left to the summit of the hill.
Another cloud free summit, with incredible views. We returned via a new track built for the quarry and ended up walking through the quarry works, then to the brewery, where we had a well-earned pint of ale to reflect on how a tough but rewarding walk that was…
