Welcome...

There are several blogs on the internet detailing other people’s walks up hills and mountains in the UK, there are many fine pages showing routes up various fells, many of which will be better than this blog. So, why bother reading my blog? No reason at all, so I guess you might as well move on…

You still here? Cool...let's see...

Mam Tor

In August, me and Steve decided to take an impromptu camping trip in Derbyshire – Edale to be precise. We had nothing booked but luckily when we turned up at Newfold Farm campsite with Steve’s little three-man tent we were able to get a spot for three nights.

On the trip we decided to scale Mam Tor, something I had been looking at doing for a while. What a great walk! We were able to hike from the campsite, along the road and up onto the path to the summit. It was very busy, the weather lovely and sunny. We went on to do Hollins Cross and Lose Hill before heading back to the camp site.

The local pub, The Nags Head (a minute’s walk from the campsite) was having a beer festival as well, so we felt it only right and proper we had a beer, or three… or more… Overall, great place and great walk.

Here is Steve's video of the trip.
