Welcome...

There are several blogs on the internet detailing other people’s walks up hills and mountains in the UK, there are many fine pages showing routes up various fells, many of which will be better than this blog. So, why bother reading my blog? No reason at all, so I guess you might as well move on…

You still here? Cool...let's see...

March 2019: Parlick and Fairsnape

The March walk this year involved just a short 45 minute drive for us to the nearby Trough Of Bowland: my home county of Lancashire’s area of outstanding beauty.
I have scaled Parlick many, many times with my kids when they were younger, and Fairsnape as well. Today it was me, Steve and two dogs (only one crazy spaniel this time, my Jake).

The walk begins at Fellfoot Farm and you head up an obvious steep path to Parlick. This is fairly strenuous for a Sunday morning, but well worth the effort, with lovely views all around.  The walk continues from Parlick to the higher hill Fairsnape. It is quite peaty off the main path in places, but there is a fine summit trig, cairn and shelter for tuna sandwiches and Aldi crisps.

We headed back the same way, but avoided climbing Parlick again by walking along its side. March walk bagged.

And HERE'S a vid Steve did of the walk...
