Welcome...

There are several blogs on the internet detailing other people’s walks up hills and mountains in the UK, there are many fine pages showing routes up various fells, many of which will be better than this blog. So, why bother reading my blog? No reason at all, so I guess you might as well move on…

You still here? Cool...let's see...

Walla Crag Jan 2023

Walla Crag is an old favourite, a pleasant romp with a wonderful view of Derwent water. In January 2023, Amy, Jack, Jake and I took a short trip to Keswick, where we stayed at Low Briary (a regular haunt). We walked to Walla Crag from base and headed past Castlerigg Campsite(s), crossed the stream and up the hill. We then continued along the summit and down to the lake (not something I have done before).

We saw a couple of woodpeckers pecking at a couple of trees in the woods near the lake, which was somewhat exciting (I don’t get out much). A lot of the weekend was spent drinking ale as well (thought I had better mention that).

Get the OS Map for the area here.
