Welcome...

There are several blogs on the internet detailing other people’s walks up hills and mountains in the UK, there are many fine pages showing routes up various fells, many of which will be better than this blog. So, why bother reading my blog? No reason at all, so I guess you might as well move on…

You still here? Cool...let's see...

Parlick and Fairsnape July 2023

It is always nice to climb these two hills together and I always appear to forget just how steep the approach to Parlick is. It is small in height but certainly a challenge. I have scaled this hill countless times and I love it, so near to where I live and a great little wander along the ridge to Fairsnape. I remember my first walk was with the kids and Steve – Jack was just a toddler then and called it ‘Garlic.’

This particular trek had a lot of significance. It was the first hill I climbed after my father died and it would prove to be the last hill walk I did with my little Jake, who passed away in February 2024.

RIP Jake (2012-2024)
